Lake McClure - Facts and History
These maps show the old Yosemite train track locations on Lake McClure..
This is the 1924 era when the 1st Exchequer Dam was built.. then in 1966 the dam size was increased (made higher) and therefore covered all this with water when we get low water levels we see the Barrett Bridge trestle and associated tunnels on the way to the dam from Barrett's Cove..
See the link below and look at Bagby... Now you know why I get edgy up river.
This is now the Highway 49 bridge...

Click on Bagby (up river) and see just above where Gabor wrecked his boat on the piers of the train trestle at Kittridge station.

This is a funky web link you have to click on the map and its tough to get to the pictures and you have to use the scroll bar at times.
Click on Barrett Station and see Barrett Bridge just after the now Barrett's Cove Marina heading towards the dam (recognize the piers of the bridge?)

Detwiler and see how horse shoe bend got its name.
Kittridge there was gold up river!

Current water level... doesn't look good. 20+ ft lower (in June) then in the last 10 years.
